Re: Akc mid west
I saw a judge give positive strike points to a dog opening on squirrel tracks in the snow one time at an ARHA event. Sometimes you get a judge that just doesn't really know what they are looking at.

I have started to have some of mine vaccinated for Lymes. One vet told a friend of mine the vaccine is not very effective. I am really going to try to keep the ticks off of them.

Re: Cruz Control X Strange Daze Bella
I had noticed he seemed to be losing stamina. I took him to the vet and he tested positive for Lyme Disease. They put him on Doxycycline for a month. I noticed he started losing muscle and his abdomen looked swollen and he was drinking a lot of water. I took him back to the vet and they said the Lym...

Cruz Control X Strange Daze Bella
I am curious if anyone has anything out of this cross. I had a pup that I got from Greg Wells out of this in 2015. He was one of the best I have had. I have never had a dog with that much speed that worked a check so close. He had good speed but was not competitive for the front. When I ran him with...

If you are going to the UP of Michigan watch out for the wolves. I have been there several times and never had a problem, but I know several people who have had some issues with them.

I think if a dog has kidney problems the high protien diet is hard on them. I had a dog like that and the vet I was going to at the time recommended a lower protien high carbohydrate diet. It seemed to help her. If a dog does not have kidney problems I don't think the protien will cause them any pro...

Re: Need a class for oversize dogs?
The Pennsylvania hare hounds he is referring to is a blood line that must have originated in Pa. They are extremely big beagles. I don't know much about them but Ihave seen a couple of them. The ones I saw were black and white with no brown on them, and tall. A couple of guys that had them told me s...

Re: Need a class for oversize dogs?
I knew a guy over 20 years ago that had a dog that would measure anywhere from fifteen to fifteen and a quarter. He took the dog to Michigan and got him officially measured at fourteen and a quarter. The dog was very successful in the midwest and became a field champion. The dog was borderline but n...

Re: loses hunt desire . Quits in the field
I have a dog that had a problem with low blood sugar and also found it helped to give him something with sugar if running all day. I also think it helps him to keep a little more weight on him than what I used to. A friend of mine had a dog with similar problems. He took her to the vet and she teste...

I don't know anything about Progressive Pack, but there have been several dogs that were very successful in the Mid West and ARHA Little Pack.
