Usually, progressive pack format are runned by medium to upper medium speed.
Little packs usually made up of fast, run to catch hounds, they tend to have a wider check area.

Re: Good running spot "bull-dozed"
The field behind me is full of fence rows, ditches and piles of stacked trees which made wonderful place for rabbits. A bull dolzer went through there to, knocking ut some of the trees_ but to the better! They piled the trees into two huge stacks creating homes for many of the areas rabbits. unfortu...

Re: seizures
I know a few dogs who have had seizures, no beagles thoug. I'm pretty sure it can be controlled somewhat by meds, but I knew of one family who have a labadoo who has seizures. They took their dog to the vet but the vet told them medicine wouldn't help that much,so the dog just lives with seizures ev...

Re: what is an lp trial and a pp trial...how do they work??
arha is a different dog club than ukc. Little pack and progressive pack are two diff running styles\clubs in arha. Like you can have an arha club that's style of dogs they run are progressive pack. So the only dogs in the clubwould be medium speed dogs. I don't know much about ukc but there are diff...

Re: High Maintenance & Low Maintenance Bloodlines
I have a branko dog who has jack of all trades and ali baba in him. I run him all year around except for during deer hunting season and then less in the summer, and if I don't run him at least once a week,he gets goofy. But if I continue to run him every week he's a darn good rabbit dog.

Re: Starting pen or starting in the wild?
I would have done that, but I don't have any rabbits. I had a domesticated one my pup would get excited about, but it didn't run or anything, just stayed hunkered down in the grass and would let my pup jump on it, so I quit doing that cause it wasn't quite fair. Then the poor bunny ended up getting ...

Re: what is an lp trial and a pp trial...how do they work??
I'm new to beagling, but when I join a club im going to join an arha progressive pack club (theres a lot of arha clubs in michigan where I live). I believe you are referring to two diff styles of arha. LP is little pack, which consists of usually a cast of five fast foot speed, some say rougher on t...

Starting pen or starting in the wild?
I need some advice if anyone would care to help a beginning beagler out? I purchased a pup up northcentral Michigan at six weeks old. At three months old I started taking her out with my big hound on wild rabbits. She loved it, running through the brush, sniffing around and getting into all kinds of...

Re: tuff running
My dog has a hard time with dry, windy conditions, and that crusty icy snow we've been having in michigan since it started melting this week. He can usually get a rabbit up and run the hot scent for a minute when it's like that, but after that, he struggles. Other than that, my branko hound has a go...

Re: Pup testing my patience
You're lucky your pup is even running rabbits! The pup I have taken out with my other beagle since three mobths old, is now five months old and still hasn't started. She has great hunting bloodlines, good nose, small and loves running through the brush, so maybe time will tell? I would give your pup...
