I live in SE Iowa, It has been below zero many nights,I have always used the plastic boxes lined with cedar and straw. 2 dogs per house and my dogs stay toast warm. Have a friend lives in the UP and he usses the same and says he has never lost one yet.

seen alot of dogs that won,t run after dark, esspecially if they don't it very often I have a female that had a runn in with a yote after dark i think that was a year ago and she still won't run after dark but her litter mates will every dog has a different personality doubt if it is genetic

It is inbreeding but if you like the dogs, and want to lock in there traits good and bad mind you go for. It is as close to being a brother sister cross you can get without actually breeding brother sister.They are both out of the same gene pool almost the same exact genetics.
