Re: rabbit dog VS trial dog
Just because you claim to have dogs that do both doesn't mean they are good at doing both. While I dont own two styles of dogs, I can see why some would want to. Why is it viewed so negatively that someone would own some cleaner running hounds to hunt over than the dogs they trial? I have judged wa...

Re: What Format are the dogs easier to breed for?
For those who are familiar with different formats, UBGF, Deep South, PBGA, Midwest and so forth , what format do you think is the easiest to breed for ? The PBGA in my opinion requires a good medium speed to a step above, hound with gears, close check work, with good line control, ( big over-runs w...

Re: what ever happened to the $150 pup
$150 pups are still out there. Price sometimes depends on where the pups going. I have a breeding planned of which most of the pups will be free because they are going to guys that I KNOW will care for them and hunt them. If I were to sell any and Joe Blow from Idaho wanted one, the price is $750.

Re: Best rabbit hunting magazine?
It depends on which format, region and registry you compete in. I like Better Beagling because it covers the style of hounds I run, in the area I run, in AKC which I run. I also get Hounds and Hunting because some of the clubs I participate in trials at advertise there and it has good articles.

Re: How big will pup end up being?
A friend and I bought littermate pups at 8 weeks old. At the time of purchase they were the same size. At 6 months mine was alot bigger. His could almost walk under mine. At 2 years old both were measured at 14 3/4 inches.

Re: Silver creek beagle club trials
Midwest is not a format. They hold trials under the SPO format. If your question is, what federation promotes hounds that are a step slower than midwest?, I would say NEBGF.kybluetickbeagler1 wrote:Well I guess I got my answer. Which format in akc is a step below Midwest? Also do they just run one format at silver creek?

Re: Shout Out to Trialers
Then you misunderstood me. I didn't mean that the dogs know what a win is. We are in agreement on what makes a good dog.
