I would solo mostly then pack them once or twice a week. Try to run them with another dog besides their littermate if possible too. Ive seen pups buddy up and only run well with each other.

Im not sure what would be better right now for you, if you can only get backs. That is a lot of bone and will probably make for very hard stools. There is not enough meat on a chicken back. I've been feeding raw meat for many years. Dont need extra vitamins , rice or veggies. Just an 80% meat, 10% bone ration and 10% organ (5%of that liver 5% other organ) They get the nutrients they need from the raw diet. Watch the sodium in anything canned ...

Just have to use common sense. If it feels like a sauna outside , dont run. I do take mine out but early and late when the temps are lower or humidity down. Short runs and I hover over them to be sure none are getting too hot, Sometimes they dont get to go. They dont like it but it is for their own ...

You still need bone in their diet. Have you considered groundhog and squirrel ? I feed all sorts of wild game. Just freeze it for a couple weeks before feeding. Also freezer burned meat from friends. Or maybe hit your local butcher shop and ask for the scraps.

They are here in Central PA too. We hear them at night. Havent had any encounters yet but we trap the area a lot.

John , mine came with a canvas carrying case thing with a clip and two loops on either side I'm guessing to run a belt through. I havent tried that yet though. I have to be careful when I have mine clipped to my pocket , it falls off easy when I'm following the dogs.

excellent for gnats. That is why I got one. The gnats where I run can be unbearable. To the point I load up and go home. Now I never go running without my Thermacell.
