Re: i want to judge

Judging is a thankless job. Someone is always peeing and moaning that they got shafted. They only hear their own dog and don't see what the judge sees. Sure, there are buddy judges and judges that hold grudges. That said, thanks to all who judge. You guys cover some pretty rough terrain.

Re: Is Winning the Same When You Buy the Dog?

There's a lot more pride in a pup you've raised and trained yourself. There's also a stronger bond formed early. I like working with young pups--from eight weeks on. I get a kick out of watching the light bulb go on for them and that first yappy puppy strike. A 8-month-old pup I've been working stru...

Re: Plant Cover Bush

I don't have any experience with serecia lespedeza. That said, it is listed as an aggressive, noxious weed in Missouri and Kansas. It can be difficult to control. Make sure you do your home work. I was instructed 20 years ago to plant autumn olive borders. It is great stuff; every bird eats its berr...

Re: help with astro 220 vs. 320

Rabbit Chaser: I just measured my DC 30. I can get down to a little less than 4" diameter if I use the last hole. I've run mine on an 8-month-old pup and didn't have any trouble. Hope that helps. You might also be able to move the little box thing-a-ma-gig. I'd check with Garmin or The Collar Clinic...

Re: help with astro 220 vs. 320

I have a 220 with two 40 collars and a 30 and really like it. It sure gives a guy piece of mind when running young dogs or pups. I mostly use the tracking, but I like the "tracks" menu that lets me measure the size of my food plots. Most are between a third and little more than a half acre. I fertil...

Re: Collar Clinic

I have used these guys several times. Can't say enough good about them. I lost my shock collar and they made me a new one in just a couple of days. :D :D

Re: Don't Forget the Biskits!

My wife usually just bakes a cut up rabbit in the oven at 350 for and hour-and-a-half or so, then browns in in a cast iron skillet. Does squirrel the same, just bakes it longer.
