Hey Pete Thanks for the replies as that explains why he wasn't seen more of.I know he was the sire of two time National Large Pack Champion Branko's One Tough Ombre' [Ombre's mother is Branko's Poetry in Motion]. The female pup I picked up in Ky. two weekends ago is out of a female that is out of Ph...

Branko's Phantom of the Opera

I know how he's bred but was curious if any body knows anything about his abilities.Such as size, foot, voice, line running ability, check work, etc. He doesn't have a title so was wondering if he was ever trialed. He seems to be one of the Branko dogs that is less heard of then some of their others alt...

Maravic's Blue Barry is still alive and is being studed by Mark Trudell in up-state New York.
He is out of Ninja and Branko's Silvertone Belle and is a 2 time winner of the Large Pack On Hare Nationals.

One of these days I'm going to make the drive up to Ky. and try a Mid- West trial. I've wanted to for a long time but the 4-5 hour drive always makes me put it off. Would have to leave the house around 1:00 -2:00 A.M. and lose an hour going into the eastern time zone to boot. I know, waa, waa. Just l...

Turbo Powered By Prop as a reproducer

What are your thoughts as to whether Turbo will go down in "beagling history" as a top reproducer. Would like to hear from folks who know alot more about the dog than I do. I know that sons of his are doing some winning at the trials and some are championing out with Monroe's Reggie being on a hot s...

I recently went to a trial that was run under SPO format and it was the first time I'd ever been to that type of trial. My background in trialing was previously Large Pack on Hare in the northeast and for the past 10 years it's been Little Pack in Tn., ALA. and Ky. I asked a bunch of the competitors...

As far as the quality of the resulting pups are concerned the Field Champion title has ABSOLUTELY NO bearing on them. Champion titles are unfortunately not heriditary. The hound MUST be a proven reproducer first and formost if you expect him to pass on his charecteristics to his pups. DO NOT make the...

Hey Pete
Congratulations on the win with Thunder.I sure hated to miss out on his pups last winter so please keep me in mind for the ones you've got coming.
The Max pup I got from you last summer will be a year old next week and is doing a heck of a job both solo and packed up.

I just read coyotehunter's last post. Where do you get the idea that the Krpans raise 200 pups a year? I get both the American Beagler and Better Beagling and in the May and June issues of both magazines they have run the same ad for - HOW MANY- count em. FIVE litters. Over the years I've followed t...

All I can say to your response Bev is AMEN and again I say AMEN!!!! Your are so articulate I can see why you had success with the magazine and you've got some of these guys pegged for exactly what they are. Alot of them nothing more than internet--beagling cowboys with a bad case of jealousy Dana Ro...

running dogs from Branko

I myself have never bought a dog from Branko but, I have several friends that have and know several others who have been up to his place to hunt and/or buy a dog. I have heard nothing but positive comments in this regard. If you can't get up there yourself and you call the Krpans and describe as clo...

Branko's Iron Jack

I see that Branko mentioned in one of his recent ads for pups that he had pups sired by him. I am curious if any one out there knows anything about him? A friend of mine had a littermate to him that was making a pretty decent young dog and he sold him to a guy that has let him sit in the pen for the...

Safeguard / Panacur

Safeguard and Panacur are the same thing. They are brand names for a chemical called Febendazole. This will take care of hooks, rounds, whips and one kind of tape worm. It has a very large safety margin associated with it.

Breeding

First question is, are they approximately the same size? Sometimes breeding a 13" to a 15" presents some difficulties with them making the connection. I've gone so far as to build a small platform out of 2x4's and a piece of plywood for a little male to stand on so he could more easily breed a full ...
