Roane County

Hey Plowboy Thanks for the reply. The way you described it is just the way I saw it as we rode around the county. Mostly open woods with very little fields with brushy cover. It looked like a deer and turkey hunters paradise. Problem is I don't much care about deer hunting any more and have never tri...

Nbc Triple Challenge

Jim and Bev
I've got a dog qualified and entry confirmed so I'm going to be there. Have heard from several that it's a good event and a good time with some good folks so am really looking forward to it.
Will enjoy meeting and visiting with you both.

Kingston /Roane County TN.

Anyone on this board know anything about rabbit hunting this area? I live in middle Tn. and we seem to have a good supply of rabbits and some decent places to hunt them. My wife and I were in east Tn. [south of Knoxville 20 miles] this weekend looking around at some real estate for retirement and /o...

inbreeding

Not a thing in the world wrong with breeding a daughter back to her sire-----as long as both of them are outstanding in ALL of the traits / charecteristics that your hoping to see in the pups they'll reproduce. And I would suggest that if possible that you keep and train out the whole litter to see ...

kidney failure

I've had two females die of kidney failure. One was a really nice bitch out of IFC Greenbriars Merlin at 71/2 years and the other was a granddaughter of IFC Maravic's Blue Ninja at 6 years. I had hunted them both hard up until 3-4 days before they showed any symptoms of being sick. But, if they are ...

Patch

From what I've observed I wouldn't give the Patch bred hounds that I've seen as high a marks for speed that some have. I think they show good desire, hunt, line control, checkwork but have not thought they possessed alot of foot.JMHO

Branko's Cruise Control / Ky. Beagler

Saw somewhere on here that you own this dog out of Branko's Heli-Prop x Branko's Ba Ba Bonnie Betsy. Do you stand him at stud? If so how has he reproduced for you? Could you describe him a little as to hunting style, voice , foot , nose, etc.?What size is he? Thanks in advance. Dana Robinson Shady Gr...

I believe hare will take more stamina from your hounds than the swampers will. A hare uses speed and bottomless stamina to elude the beagles. With good dogs you can literally run one hare on bare ground for 4 hours and they will be pounding the entire time!Try doing that for5-6 days in a row while at...

Fiimore's Northern Sly

I bred a Linebred Ninja bitch to him when Jim Latimer had him a stud at his place in Ky. Jim owned Sly's father Armando's Northern Tracker. The pups I got out of that cross were the earliest starting pups I've ever had.Took them for a walk out in the wild at 14 weeks old and they jumped their own ra...

I kept registered Bluetick coonhounds for more than 20 years and most of them are black heads and ears. But fairly frequently you'd get one that had an all blue head like your beagle has.
The old Sugar Creek line had mostly big dogs with all blue heads.

Breeding

Don't get hung up on the human definitions of relationship and the taboos that are related to human beings. These are dogs. We can breed them any way we want. That being said it is up to us to do all the pre-breeding research to insure that what we are breeding will better the breed and hopefully ou...
