beagle training events

I saw this meesage board on the web site here..
I was wondering what kind of events are out there, for my 16 mth old beagle mick..
He has endless amounts of energy that I would love to let him tap into, but its kind of hard here in the chicago area unless I take him to a fenced in dog park area, which is good for him..
So if anybody knows about events in which I can get him involved in please let me know
