Drooling dog

Dear Doc,

I know this is a very weird problem but I have a 8 month old puppy that drools like crazy when I put her in the dog box. She doesn't get sick, even on long trips. I have tried two different boxes (one metal, one wood). She doesn't do this if she rides in the cab. I can just take her across town and she is soaked when we get there. I have tried straw bedding, cedar bedding, and no bedding at all. I just can't figure it out.

Any light you could shed on this problem would be of help.

Jeff

P.S. She does this even if the truck never moves

The drooling is probably from motion sickness in this case. Some hounds get over it and some don't. Should not be a problem for her though really. Doc S

Do they make Dramamine for dogs? She has really gotten shy about getting in the box.

Yes, contact your vet and they should be able to help you get a dosage for your dog. Doc S
