Ear

Trying to speed the diagnosis process along. Not irritated doesn't seem to bother him at all, loss of hair mainly along edges and inward. Not mange, briars, nor infected. Fungus?

Ear mites maybe?
I had that on 3 of my field beagles in late fall and treated them with bag balm, it cleared it up in 5 days. Just the tips were yucky.

My dog's seem to get this every winter when I feed water mixed in with thir food. The ear gets wet and a fungus starts to grow. This is what causes the scabs and matting. I use a product from TSC named MTG it cures rain rot in horses. I apply the stuff once a day and if it doesn't improve I then apply and gentle scrape the scabs off with a lice comb and apply alittle more when done . Hope this helps. :) :)

Thank you, I think I will get that M-T-G. Been using Fung-a-way from TSC. It seems to been helping but your suppose to wash the ears before each application. Not real practical when it's below freezing outside. I see with the M-T-G you don't have to do that. That will save me alot of time.
