Re: what ointment do you use
We have brush dogs so their ears are always getting scratched. When my husband comes home from running or hunting the dogs he first uses Drs.Foster and Smith Septi-Soothe antiseptic pads to clean the ear flaps. If the scratch is deep, he uses Triple Antibiotic Ointment (any generic brand will work) to prevent infections and help the ears to heal. This ointment can not be used anywhere the dog can lick because they love it. Hope this helps and happy hunting!
