he has a back trouble slip disk -or he has coon hound paralysis--this is seen in coon hounds more than other breeds

coon hound paralysis comes from the syliva of a coon .. dogs mainley catch it from fighting a coon. makes them loose control of their body.. my buddy had a male plot get it and we built a sling to put him in and kept him in the basement and he pulled through.. really lost his voice and if i ever have it happen again i'll probably just put the dog down..

Ive seen the anal glans get so infected that a dog is weak and wobbly in the back end, but not total loss of control.

A couple years ago I had adog go down in his hips all he could do was drag, took him to the vet and he said he had a slip disk. He gave him a shot and put him on some pills for inflamation so it could go back into place. It got better but never got 100%.

I have had 2 seperate females that lost total control of hind legs due to lyme. The vet was convinced it was a disk but it wasn't. I'd see a vet as there could be several valid causes by the time you troubleshoot it could be much worse.
