you can do it --front dew claws --if they have them on the back feet I get them two -I use a little blood stop powder and iodine they don't even know it

The answer depends on you...It saves money if you do it but if you are unsure..vet. The biggest problem i think is making sure you get all of the little bone of the claw..if not it may continue to grow and you didnt do any good.
Had a friend help me once...couldnt get the whole bone so it was off to the vet.
I had a litter of 6 born Sunday and had claws done by vet on Wednesday..wasnt too expensive and the pups get a good examination in the process.....$7.00 per pup for claws wasnt a bad deal.
Good Luck.

IMHO "YES" Vet trip.. But be Aware it is going to Cost MORE than if it was 3 to 5 days old All the blood vessels and Bone have had time to form..
3 to 5 days is best Forceps and some super glue..
Do a search on here for Dew Claw Removal some Excellent post on it at one time.
From Field to Show and Show to Field the way it should be

What is the purpose of removing front dew claws? I understand the back ones. Seems like all my dogs I've bought from other beaglers have their front dew claws. Is there a need to remove them or is it cosmetics?

if you run in a lot of snow --sometimes they will get tore up and bleed --it just saves a lot of problems and a good looking leg
