Dear Doc:
I have an old (11 yrs) beagle I think might be more ill than she looks. She is blind, has a silver dollar sized tumor on her back right hip, and is now urinating and soiling in the house on a regular basis. She still hears and smells well, but I'm concerned about possible heart problems -- she breathes very fast and her chest cavity and belly seem to be a little bloated. She doesn't eat much people food, but has a normal appetite otherwards. She's been the best dog ever.
Is it worth a trip to the vet to see if she is okay? She's had senior work ups within the last year, and her kidney function came back normal. Could we just be talking an old dog with typical old dog problems?
Does my dog need medical intervention?
