Beagles running deer! HELP!

Post by hunterbyinstinct »

I took my two Beagles out for their 1st time and they both ran deer trails, in different directions! The male (black/tan) called off the trail pretty easy. The female (lemon) was more difficult! I'm worried that they now will not run rabbits! Any advice??? The Beagles are 7 months old.

Thanks,

-HBI

Buy a two dog shock collar! Next time they hit a deer trail turn it ALL the way up and hit them. Other than that you might want to consider getting them to a starting pen where all they have to run is rabbit.

They probably ran the deer because it is a very heavy scent.
