Pulling a dog

Pulling a dog. How far back from the pack before u think u are pulling them. the reason i ask i run 5- 7 dogs the other day a guy told me i was pulling a dog and i dont think i was on a long run some time she be as colse as 5 feet to the lead dog and sometime she be 5 feet from the last dog before her on checks she right there with the pack my lead dog is 14 inch rest of my pack is 13 to 13.5 all of my pack runs a good 6 my lead dong can go to a 6.5 should i change out lead dog he dont lead all the time if one of my females get the check some time they lead for a while
