mouthy dog

Post by ericwaddle3 »

Given a dog by a guy that field trails, didn't make his cut because he is a little mouthy. Said I could try him at a decent they are having in a couple months, just to try my luck. What's the best way to break this? It's usually soon as we get out close to cover at the start of a running session. After a lite scolding he quits, but if they lose the track for a bit, he gets a little yappy.

If he's just excitement barking with no rabbit, I'd give him a bump with an e-collar. Nothing too hot, just to remind him that's not what you want.
