What's a good way to keep dogs from digging out of the yard? Have a privacy fence and have considered bricks but that seems kinda expensive and would take alot of bricks.

Probably the least expensive thing is to run a hot wire just above the ground. Other than that you could put a wire fence apron around it

Go to Lowes and in the fencing section they have an electric fence made just for this instance. They have brackets and stuff to attach it to chainlink fences but you can probably modify it to put it on a privacy fence. Just run it about 6 inches off the ground. It works GREAT. Keeps my labs and beagles in the yard.

I would be very careful with an elecrtic fence. I put one around one of my pens a few years ago and I saw one of my females accidently back into it and when it bit her on the rearend she turned around and bit the wire and it locked her to it. If I had not been right there it would have probably killed her.
Needless to say the electric wire came down.I now have wire layed down on the ground and attatched to the fence. It works great but might not be so good in a yard where you have to mow.

Electric wire, 6" off the ground and your problem is over. Make sure you buy the right fence charger though. I would suggest a charger made for dogs and small pets, around a 5 acre coverage area. These chargers a built to pulse a low voltage charge about every second and prevents a dog or child from being skuck to the wire. Do not use a charger for horses and cattle. These type chargers are a steady feed and are much higher voltage. It won't take but a couple of times getting popped and they will give the fence plenty of respect.

I agree with Joe be careful about electric fence I had one that was designed for dogs and had a female that bit it and caused her to loose her pups she was carrying and I have not been able to get her to take since. Every six months my male hooks her and same old thing no pups and it isn't him cause he breeds another female for me. I dug a trench around my kennel and put river rock in there. You can use a plow on a tractor for the ditch and go to any river and pick up rock.
