Some of my dogs are chewing on the door way of the wooden box I have built. I am finding wood chips in their stool. How can I stop this? I thought of wrapping it in metal but was wondering if there is an easier way.

We use to have horses that liked to gnaw on wood and I got some stuff at the feed store to spray on the wood called "crib stop" or something like that. I would ask a vet or someone with knowledge of this to be sure it wasn't harmful to hounds, but maybe that would work for you. Let us know. CHH

I bent some galvanized sheet metal into U channels and flashed off the doorway. My Kennels have been like that for close to 15 years without ever having any ill effects on the dogs. I worked in HVAC/ductwork shop and used a break to bend it.

I took a flat piece of heavy sheet metal and cut a square out of it with a grinder and screwed it on it stopped all chewing and was a fast and simple fix. Tom

Hey Coop, how you do'in :) ,

We went to the lumber yard and ask for metal J-channel, measure your door opening and use your tin-snips to cut length to fit, use short wood screws(we used 3/4" drywall screws) to put in place, you may have to use shims for a tight fit but it will look nice and hold up well ;) ...Patch

I put a little hot pepper on the spot  and that stops them. they only have to smell it there next time and they don't even try to bite it
