Construction is Finally Underway

Well I finally got my posts set and let me just say that the ground was like digging up concrete. Got the dang auger stuck 4 different times, broke 2 shear pins, and had to use a jack to get it out 3 of the 4 times it got hung. Needless to say once we set the first post we dicovered that we couldnt even drive any boards into the ground to brace it up with so we had to improvise and I have enough concrete blocks we just used them and hoped like the dickens that the wind wouldnt pick up till at least the next afternoon. Finally luck was on my side cause the wind always blows round here but not this time. No significant wind and 2 days later everything is still standing with bubble between the lines. Just a hair over 4hrs, 15 posts, and 27 sixty pound bags of quickcrete later I am finally ready for my concrete guy to get over here, frame it up, dump the gravel, level it out, and pour my floor. None of that definately aint my cup of tea. After that though the rest should be pretty quick, I just hope my contractor aint too far behind.

Finally got the concrete poured. Now just waiting the week I was told by contractor to allow ample curing before I start hammering up panels and roofing and such. Hopefully by the end of the weekend or first of next week I'll have it complete. Oh yeah, each run is 6x12.

Well we got everything done except the trim in the front for the gutter and the roof on and all that should be done tomorrow. Here is where we are at as of now though. I am completely satisfied with everything but the door and will redo them later but for now they will do. Something about them not being squared up just dont do it for me but the doors were the last thing to go on today and I guess I just flat out got sloppy the more tired I got. Oh well here ther are.

Well here it is. Only things lacking is the gutter, lights, and some small trim work and hauling the old above ground kennel to the scrap pile. The white metal is the top from when the storm blew it over so now that I have what I been wanting for a while it will be scrap lumber and I will find some kind of use for the expanded metal I used for the floor.
Heres the inside on one of the runs. The beagles got a lil camera shy so I dont have a pic of them out of their doghouse yet so this will have to do. At some point I will build the houses on the inside but for now the platform around the barrels will do just fine and keep them from rolling all over the place.
