We put a thick bed of fieldlime. After a while, it became contaminated with urine and dissolve waste even with cleaning, and we made due awhile longer by freshening it up with quicklime but eventually we had to move the pen and plow the spot under to let the ground air.

We use 50 % Disinfectant Pine Sol and 50% White Vinegar mixed together. We apply it to the limestone ground under our above ground kennels using a tank sprayer. Our kennel floor is made of vinyl coated wire mesh. I don't know that this idea would work for you if you were planning to apply it to the wood that the dogs are walking on.

Creosote dip used to come in a pint can with a yellow wrapper. Smells like lighter knot.

Dont know what the stuff is called but people use it in porta johns, the blue stuff,if it will tame the smell of a out house just think what it would do to a kennel, but it will stain concreate and I'm not sure it's safe for direct contact with the dogs or not.
