I am in the process of getting my whelping box ready for a litter of pups and want to add a pig rail to it. I want to make it out of PVC but have no idea where to start as far as diameter of pipe and materials needed. If anyone has any pictures they could post on here or email to me or even a materials list or blueprints it would be greatly appreciated.

Go to seneca kennel's website. Look at their whelper. It shows a picture of the pig rail and also gives you the dimensions of their whelper. Hope this helps. I think the pvc is inch and a half.

I think I used 1 1/2" or 2". You need 4 Tees, 4 Elbows are of course straight pipe.

I bought 1 1/4'' pipe along with 4 tees and 4 elbows, now if I can find time to make it before she whelps I should be set.

My Whelping box is insulated, top, bottom and sides. The top opens for easy access and it has a pig rail made of 1 inch PVC. I used 1 inch tees to connect sections. The tee was used to keep the rail off the wall.
Here is my Pumpkin putting it to useā¦.
