is 1x2 wire to small for and adult beagle dog's stool to drop through?

i use 1x2 on my adult dogs and 1x1 on bigger pups and 1/2x1 on small pups this works good for me and my dogs.put runners ever 12 inches and the wire will not sag just my 2 cents.
