Blue Hobo

He is in my old Maggie dog's pedigree and his sire and dam was:Blurock Blue Boy and Little Blue Gal Snoopy. I know that he is in a lot of pedigrees but, I don't know much more than that. If you are really interested you can get a five generation research pedigree, with colors, from the AKC website for ten dollars.

Hobo won the 15" male class of the 1981 U.B.G.F. National Runoff. His sister Blurock Yankee Clipper won the 15" bitch class in 1979. He was killed by somebody with a bow and arrow in the 80's.

Shortly before his death he was sold for $10,000.00 At the time it was the highest price paid for a beagle. I do not know if anyone has sold one for more now or not. I have a friend who still has the artile about this in an old issue of hounds and hunting. I also still have a little of his blood in my kennel.

10K was not the most paid for a beagle at that time. Your info is wrong.

That would be a terrible thing to pay 10 grand for a hound and it get shot. In the eighties, I know Branko sold half interest in three hounds for 50K.

My first AKC registered dog was a little bluetick male from Blurock Hobo. I bought him from Mr. Estes in Pegram TN.around 1982. He started real easy and once soloed a rabbit for over an hour at 6 months old. When he was 2 years old his hips went out and I had to have him put down.I liked that dog a lot.I have a Stubby bred female now that has Blurock Hobo in her pedigree.

Did anyone line breed this dog with any success? I am interested in seeing some of his decendants. Thanks

He is in all of my dog's pedigrees and you can see them at:http://donskiamichibeagles.tripod.com
I know of several other kennels that have him in their dog's pedigrees.
