Blue Banks Pleaser X Bear Mtn. To Me Princess

Good time to teach BJK, but this cross was not one of those times.

This was the last living daughter of Taylor's Sock it to Me being bred to a grandson of Sock it to me..........who was also a multiple field trial winner.

This is a good example of a cross that should have been dynamic, but it just didn't click. It was a horrible cross, but not for reasons that us mere mortals can see. There had to have been a bad gene somewhere that popped up when these two dogs were put together.

Mere mortals? I think it would have taken anyone just a few minutes of watching Princess run to figure that one out. She should have never been bred in my opinion.

This is a teachable moment to those youngsters and old timers that breed beagles because of a dogs pedigree opposed to breeding due to ability and character. Too many times beaglers get caught up into breeding unproven bitches to a good stud male, expecting dynamite pups

No offense is taken.

It's just that Princess has crossed wonderfully with several dogs with Pleaser seemingly being the exception. Why that is I have no idea.

What did Princess do while running that disqualified her from preserving a bloodline in your opinion?

Bopeye, Just defend the good, not the bad.

Having said that i would guess the shyness came from Pleaser.I had a female from him and another bitch that was very shy to strangers. She is still a 1 man dog.

I'm like Nate (BJK)

Appreciate ya'll's honesty. Willing to refund money on a pup. Pups from anothers breeding are always a gamble, and a refund shouldn't be expected.

We all can learn from others as well as our own mistakes if we tell about them. Lord knows I've made plenty!

My question is: James, the way you describe the kinship, this breeding could have been a Son breeding his Mother. Inbreeding. Was it?

It's been awhile John, so don't quote me on this.

Princess was a daughter of Taylor's Sock it to me
Pleaser was a grandson on both sides to Sock it to me.

I guess it was pretty tight, but I would call it tight linebreeding. I know many disagree with me on that, but that's okay too....... ;)
