I personally have seen gambler and slammer both run. I have seen very few females run like slammer. I ended up with a male out of this cross that would ghost track he would make his own line up and drive it hard and the other dogs would not honor him. I have seen him open in a thicket like he was on track or cold trailing and the dogs would not honor him. I got rid of him. However I have seen people on this site pups out of him and people wanting them. I would not want anything out of him, but I would still like something out of the slammer female she is something else.

You are lying about Gambler. I've never heard anything like that and know several that have had his blood in their hounds.

I think you are a LIAR!

Why would Donnie Campbell of Goodtimes kennels cross Gambler on so many gyps if he was that bad of a dog?

ANSWER: He wouldn't it!

Why would most of the most knowledgeable Sock it to me breeders use dogs with Gambler in their pedigrees if he was that bad?

ANSWER: They wouldn't!

I know where a female is right now, straight out of Gambler and Slammer that I would put up against anything you've got.
I'm calling you out Alligator mouth with a hummingbird behind.

It's funny how Pleaser championed in the AKC Mid-west in only four trials under six different judges and people bash him. Call Curt Folger that owns him and get the skinny on him.

Then a coward has to come on here and bash Gambler. I guess I just don't understand someone's motivation for doing such a thing. Why?

Yes, RJH Slammer was a heck of a hound. Bobby Rose loved that dog and talked about her a lot. He also liked the Gambler dog too. Hmmm?
Jamie Hilbert talked of the Slammer and Gambler dog often as well. He seemed to think pretty highly of them. Hmmm?
I owned a daughter out of Gambler and Slammer and she did everything right! Period! She may not have been leading the pack all the time, but she was the one controlling the race. She now belongs to a good friend of mine and he has even trialed her a couple times or so. The man that won a cast that she was in said something to the effect that his dog might have been leading the race, but the little Gamblerxslammer dog was the one keeping it going. She does it right, plain and simple.

I've seen some hounds that I didn't particularly care for, but I haven't ever said a thing about them. If asked in private what I think I will tell you, but to openly bash an entire group of hounds, just because I don't like them. It's just wrong!!
Other's love these hounds for the very reasons that I don't and since they are feeding them and I'm not. What's it to me?

I hope everyone has a good New year.

Which dog Wes? If you are talking about Pleaser, he is standing at stud with a fella named Jerome McGammon in Stanford, Ky.
Pleaser is owned by Curt Folger of Stanford.
The stud fee is $200.
I see the pups varying in cost, so it will just depend who you buy from.

I have heard that Pleaser does not throw a hard hunting hound. I have not seen any at all run so I can not say with any first hand knowledge. Pleaser is a super looking hound. His littermate BlueBanks Sweet Singer produced one of the best hounds I have ever seen in my life. So I wouldnt be afraid to breed to Pleaser or obtain a pup. The best way to make a decision is go see some Pleaser pups in action. Try to see several out of different bloodlines. The guy that owns Pleaser I think will be more than willing to show pups in the field. I talked to him last year and he was still gun hunting Pleaser and invited me up. I have not made the time to do it yet. I have seen some of Pleasers pups placing in the trials in the magazines. Id say we all should hope to one day own a hound that has done as well as Pleaser.

I've personally seen two litters out of Pleaser and all are still young, so my opinion of their hunt cannot really be assessed as of yet.

As far as what Tony J had to say about Sock it to me dogs. Here is what IFC Taylor's Sock it to me did himself.
His AKC record consisted of four wins, three seconds, two thirds and a fourth place finish.
His Canadian record consisted of six trials in which he won four of them, came in second one time and fourth once.

If he was a backtracker then he did one heck of a job at fooling the judges.

This came from a stud ad that Art Taylor of Fort Plain, Ny had on "to me".

Thank you Will.

I'll second the big mouth thing, you are right, I do. Thank you for that, but I always put my real, registered name where my mouth is.

Now about those six field champions, what are they out of?
Do you run LP, PP, AKC mid-west spo, etc.???

What's the name of your field champions Tony? I'm alway's looking for good blood to add.

I apologize if I offended you. However I was talking about the male dog out of Gambler and Slammer not Gambler. Gambler is a nice hound. It was misunderstood. I got rid of the male for making those mistakes not Gambler. However I have seen some pups on here out of the dog I raised for sale.

My apologies as well, ol. I can understand an honest mistake as I make them myself all the time, just don't tell nobody. :shhh:
