Scrogham/Cress/Bowen

Ok, here is my situation...I have 2 dogs that I don't know alot about. Mandy is out of Cress's Scotty and Cress's Ready Red. And Sammy is out of Scrogham's KY Pete and Newton Faith. Sammy is just 7 mo old and I was told he was started in a starting pen but he has been VERY timid and he has only went out once since I got him and acted like he didnt know what rabbit was. I am hoping he was just rusty and maybe overwhelmed by the other dogs. Mandy can flat out run a rabbit and has awesome big hunt! I had seen her run before I came over the big pond and her owner is here with me and he told me he wanted to sell her so I scooped her up. My father in law has a female pup out of Donnie Bowen's last litter before he passed away.....out of Little Ann. Dont know who the sire is. The only info I have found about this pup is her mom is a Grand Champ.
NOW, I am wanting to start my own line when I get back, and I am hoping this sammy male turns out well cause he has the color I want. He is a chocolate blanket back. Awesome looks. BUT I have been researching pedigrees lately and havent found much on him. And when I make my start, I want it to be a VERY solid base. I have been looking at some Indian Hills/Northway dogs also that I would like to utilize. But I am just trying to do as much home work before I get home from Iraq that I can to make my work easier. Any info anyone can give me on any of these dogs would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Mike
