Chocolate tri color

I just made a long distance deal for a chocolate tri color beagle. How rare is that color? I've never seen some of the color combinations that people have shown on here. That black one that was posted awhile back was sure an eye catcher. Back 45 years ago, most were your normal tri color with some with more white than dark. I was at a coon trial once down in Iowa when a guy from the local club pulled in and called his buddies over to see a doq he had just purchased. It turned out to be a 160 lb. black and tan. Looked about the size of an Irish wolfhound. He set it up on the tailgate and his feet were half off on each side. They were duly impressed and one asked if he was a good hunter. The guy looked a little embarrassed and said he was so impressed with the dog's size that he had forgotten to ask.

matts.....what blood line do you have in your chocolates? I am looking for a good chocolate but so far havent found one yet. I hope to be home by march and I will be looking for a good one then. Do you do any trialing? If so do you come to WV? I would be interested in seeing what you have. Thanks.

Here is a picture of a 4 month old pup from a litter by Pine Mt Chester and C and C Hot Biscuit. He is a chocolate tri-color. Chester is a Sock It To Me and Northway Spur male and Biscuit is a daughter to FC Branko's Jackpot and a FC Branko's Magic Touch female. Chester throws a chocolate in almost every litter. I have also been told that the Jackpot line can produce the same color. I have seen a few of them and they are actually pretty cool looking dogs. Bobby Vest has one almost identical to the male in this picture. His has a little more white on it than mine.

I live in Buckhannon which is right in the center of the state. Man, that is a good looking pup. He is exactly what I am looking for. I have to come out to Ohio in April or so to get a pup that I bought when they are ready. I think he is in the southern part of the state. I will try to get with you and stay in touch, maybe we can get together and work something out. I am going to be busy the next few weeks in redeploying back to the states so I will look you up when I get home. I would like to try to breed this color into my line a little. Thanks man.

Mike,
Thanks for the compliment on the pup. I hope I didn't insinuate that he was for sale. If it came across like that I am sorry. If you are looking for one like him, I might be able to hook you up with one. Let me know. My email address is Peteyoung01@aol.com . Thanks.

Sorry about that. I understand that he is not for sale. I was hoping maybe to see what you have and keep in touch in case you have something like him for sale sometime. I would like to see him run and see if maybe you would use him for a stud sometime maybe I could use him. Sorry, didnt mean to come on too strong. I am just getting excited about coming home soon. Sorry bout that!! Take care!

Mike,
No problem. I didn't take it that you were coming across too strong. When he gets up to breeding age and running good, you are welcome to breed something to him. I take that as a compliment for the dog. Good luck and keep safe.

Mike I'll be raising a litter this Spring out of Ellison Ridge Redman,Halftrack, and Cumberland River breeding they will all be dark chocalate puppies. I hunt mostly all chocalate dogs and they are excellent gun dogs my stud dog needs 20 pts. for his RC. If you would like a pup I'll give you one, it's the least I could do for you serving our country and keeping us safe. This is a picture of the pups sire and dame they will be close to the same color.
Thanks and God Bless,
G. Mercer

I beleive Halftrack produced many above average dogs. After gun season I will begin trialing him again, he only needs 20 pts. for his RCH. Do you have many of these chocolate dogs?
