Frenchman, I co-owned Sonic with Mr. Potts for a couple of years and had her here at my place during that time. I had seen her run before and was very happy to have the chance to have her. All things considered, she was maybe the best 13" bitch I've seen- not only in trials but running solo as well. Her nose was excellent but not as good as some I've seen. There were a few days on very tough conditions that she struggled. She was fast- not super fast but the kind of fast that comes with steady pressure. Run solo, she would circle a hare for hours with hardly a check. She had a weak voice but used it right though in a trial she might bark off the end of the line a few feet, under pressure. She was very tough and the longer a trial went, the more likely she was to win. I believe she ended up with 11 wins- the last in a big pack at Vermont that went 9 hours and the last run ended with Sonic catching the hare from behind. She locked on and literally pulled yards ahead of the pack and ran the hare down honestly from behind. I also put an NBQ on her in a SPO trial on cottontail- class of 48 as I recall. She was bred twice to IFC Melanson Ranger Dan while I had her. There were complications with one litter and I recall only two pups surviving. The other litter I think produced five pups. I kept one bitch from the cross and still own her. She has a lot of talent but sometimes can be downright mouthy. I bred her to FTC Berpaul's Mac to try to clean up the mouth in the offspring. Seems to have worked, but the pups are still too young to say for sure. No extra mouth in them and they look good, but are still pretty raw. I don't know of any champions off Sonic, though I think Sean Bickford in NY may have one that is close to finishing. I don't know if Sonic was ever bred to any other studs before or after I had her.

Steve, My bitch is off Daisy(speedo bitch). The only FC out of Sonic is FC Fulcount Junior, owned by Darrell Coon, Gloversville, ny. The only 2 studs I know of were Granppy and Dan. Calvin MacDonald has the litter Sister to Junior. I have also seen some of the offspring from Dan and they tend to get mouthy(the ones I have seen). Sonic would turn heads when John showed up to atrial with her, but for my taste her sister Casey was a cleaner hound. Sean

Thanks for the info Sean. I never really knew what became of her after she left my place. I REALLY liked Sonic, but I recall putting maybe a 3rd place on Casey at the trial of champions at Adirondack a few years ago. She was a good one too from what I saw. I never saw Sonic run rough when solo or with a few other hounds but she was competitive enough to do what she had to do in a trial situation. I hated to see her go when she left here.
