Awful Bawlin Rupert's Bud is 14-14.5" about 3 going on 4, he has a second, a third and maybe 1 or 2 other places in Canadian Large Pack. He hunts very hard, he can be independent when hunting. If he thinks he can find it, he will. When turned out and allowed to hunt where he wants, he will find his game, especially tight sitting, hard to jump rabbits. He has endless bottom. I've hunted him all day, 8 hours, he still has his tail up and hunts as hard as when he first started. He can lock on a rabbit and run it likes he's posessed, especially when the rabbit does a lot of tricks. He does not get rattled with swinging dogs that try to out maneuver him. When the rabbit runs big, he runs big too. This is when he looks his best. I have seen him separate from the pack and just drive! He'll get out 50 yards in front of the pack, at a check he'll turn and look and listen to see if the pack is coming. When he hears that they are, he'll find the line and take it out of there challenging the pack to catch up. This is trait that attracted me to Let Er Rip. Judges and Monkman have seen Ripper do this lots of times. I had no idea that Bud possessed this quality also. He has adjusted well on cottontail.
I also own Awful Bawlins BJ's Oreo Cookie. A young bitch a little over a year old. Her sire is Let Er Rip. Her dam in near champion Three Jays Jacks Magie. This bitch is 15" fast, a ton of hunt and endless bottom. When 9 months she circled rabbits solo during gun season with speed and no breakdowns. She has lots of speed but won't outrun her nose, intelligence. I offered Monkman 500 for her littermate but he won't sell her. Kim Newman has a brother.
I have 4 pups about 9 maybe 10 months old that are sired by Let Er Rip and Only the Lonely and Helen Wheels. They have a double cross of Moneysunk Mountain Man top and bottom. They get started this month. They are full of pi*s and vinegar. The males will be 15" and the females will be 14"
The Awful Bawlin dogs have tons of hunt, they will not get stuck in a small area. They will range to find their game. You will quit before they will. These dogs are not for the faint at heart or a novice. I wanted a hunting dog that had speed, nose, enough stamina to hunt 3 or 4 days out of the week and hunt all day with the same intensity at the end of the day as when they started. I have more coming, I can't get enough of them. Oh yeah they are built well. If you need more info feel free to call
