What dog at stud is consistently throwing pups that will hunt the cover they are turned loose into. I don`t mean a dog that will cover a lot of ground bypassing prime rabbit habitat because they don`t want to hunt the thick nasty stuff? There are far to many dogs that cover a lot of ground. To me that is not hunt.

I have a 7 month old linebreed Northway male out of Lynn Perkins Run-N-Gun Buzz Saw dog that has pretty good hunt & search for his age. He stays busy and never quits. He jumps all of his own rabbit or he don't get to run and he learned that as soon as he started running. I also have a 5 year old Northway male that is the same way hunts hard all day and can't get enough of it.

Eddie, I watch these forums quite a bit and the only dog you ever blow smoke about is Manny. I would have to disagree with you on this one.I had bought a female off of Branko and Frieda directly out of Lumberjack and Extra Trim. Per there recomendation I bred her to Warlock the first time. She had 3 pups. I kept 2 of them. One was running at 3 1/2 months old the other one was running at 4 1/2 months old on cottontails. They are both nice dogs, I only say this to prove the fact that this female could reproduce nice pups. The second breeding I was going to breed her to Rabble Rauser but per their recomendation I bred her to Manny. She had 11 pups. All the pups died but 3 of them. About 4 days after their birth the mother died. I believe she bled to death internally. The vet said there was nothing they could have done for her. Now I was out about $300 per pup( $2400) plus a $1500 female for a total of $3900.Now to the pups from her and Manny. One of the females was so timid and just plain mean to the point that she could not be put next to any dog because the fight was on. I culled her at 4 months old. The male was about 15 1/2 ``. There has never been another dog that was as trashy as that dog was . I mean he would run anything. Very very mouthy. And to make matters worse he started backtracking. I also culled him at about 13 months old. Idid get a very nice female from the litter. She has all the right tools. she just need to put it together. She does not have the kind of hunt that I am trying to find. It takes more than 1 or 2 dogs from a litter to be called a reproducer. Manny himself is far from perfect. It is sad you are so kennel blind. I too know Denny D. He is a very nice man . Manny best quality is his explosive speed not hunt.

I don't know how you raised these pups after the mother died but if it was on a bottle I too had a simalar experience with a pup off a bottle. I would never recomend raising one off a bottle they are like weeds in a briar
patch. WORTHLESS!
