Todd,
FC Buckeye Blue Ninja Boy is a 15" bluetick hound that accomplished his championship title in the Midwest Beagle Gundog Assocation. Blue was owned during this time by Jack Johnson, who passed away recently. Jack will be severely missed by all those that met him. He was a great guy. Anyhow Ninja is currently owned by Don Rengert of Ohio.
I judged Blue around 3 years ago, in a class of 21 at a Midwest All/Age qualifer. That day he won. The biggest attribute that I notice from Blue was his patience and determination. On several rabbits in the winners pack, we had squats and doubles. He was the only hound that had the sense to come back to the point of loss and patiently work the checks. I've yet to see any of his offspring, but if they're like their sire than I'd be more than happy to own one. From what I can remember Blue hunted good, had proper use of mouth, and medium-fast to fast footspeed. He wasn't the fastest dog in the pack, but when he had it he could control it.
After placing a win on him that day, I heard he went on to four straight licensed trials afterwards. I hope this helps. I don't know Mr. Rengert's phone number, but you could probably get it from

Fuzz, yes i do, Jack was a great guy and Blue ninja Boy made field champion on his abilities. Jack wasn't known that well in the Mid-WEST when he finished him.

What do you mean? He was the president of Wurtland Beagle Club at the time. Fuzz describes Blue Boy to a t except for the hunt part.
