The Blue Caps were bred from the early Imports of the hunting Packs in England. The strain was founded in about 1885, by Mr Hiram Card of Elora, Canada. The foundation came from Imp. Blue Cap and Imp. Blue Belle, two hounds brought over from England, from the kennel of Sir A. Ashburnham, by Mr. William Asheton of Virginia, USA. The cross of these two hounds produced Cards Blue Cap, the fountain head of the Elora Kennel...Patch

Hey Andy,

I sent you an email and replied to your better beagling post. Harold Everson is the man with bluecaps up in Michigan. I have some here in east Texas and there is a man in Louisiana that has some also. Let me know if I can help with any more info and I will try to do so! I hope you get some of the good bluecap blood and that they will make you proud! I also looked at your website, great job! I didn't see any pedigrees on there, will you add those later? Keep em running and stay in touch!
May God Bless You and Yours! Dexter

Hey Dave,

I just checked back into this site so that is why I am just now replying to your question. Mr. Harold Everson in Michigan, phone # 810-736-7819. Tell him that Dexter Cook referred you to him. He seems to be a straight shooter and knows his dogs. As far as hunt, he should have good dogs, I believe he runs in PP trials and has had some success there and on the bench as well. He will have to give you that info.
The bluecaps have been linebred for many years and that should increase your chances of getting the hunt and search in the bloodline. People that I have talked to about his dogs say that they are good rabbit dogs and to me, that is what we are looking for in a beagle. I don't think you would be disappointed with the bluecaps if you like dogs with line control and gears. Let me know how it works out and tell Mr. Everson that I said Hello! May God Bless You and Yours! Dexter in east Texas

I just made a trade with a fella from Michigan. I got a young gyp from him that was bred by Mr. Everson. She is a very well built hound with a good personality. She is also very outgoing and bold. I have not run her yet, I've only had her for 4 days and I want her to know who to come back to,but so far she seems to want to get in the brush. She is only lightly started so I can't say how she runs yet. I'll update it when I find out. I had her in the house when I first got her and she pulled my coveralls out of the closet for me :D
