Johny,
I'm no expert on Sock it to me hounds by any stretch of the imagination, but I have owned a few and ran with a few others.
It's hard for me to tell another person how fast they are as I am not a trialer, but to me they are pretty swift. Maybe not what you would call fast, but they are generally pretty quick. I know that most the guys that trial them do so in the SPO or the LP, which I think requires a pretty fast dog.
As far as holding the line, they do a pretty qood job at that as well.

The true redeeming characteristics in my opinion of the "to me" line is their desire or "hunt". If they are in shape they generally don't have any quit in them, but they are equally hard headed. I have had more experience beaglers tell me that this usually runs hand in hand with one another.
Take care.
