Panacur Wormer
Has any one used this wormer? A VET NEAR ME SAID IT WAS WHAT I NEEDED FOR MY DOGS. I used it on 2 ,8 month old females I raised that was due their worming. Now I have 2 sick dogs. The dosage was for 1 cc per 10 lbs body wgt. for 3 days. Dogs weight 13 & 15 lbs. Gave 1 cc to each dog first day ,skipped 2nd day repeated on 3rd day. Noticed on 4th day that both dogs are sick. One dog can hardly walk ,it is like she don't want to use her back legs, she will stagger like she is drunk. 2nd dog doesn't want to eat at all. Any help willbe appricated.

Did you get the Panacur for dogs? Usually this comes in a powder form that you mix with food. It comes in small packets and you will use X number of packets depending on weight. I have never heard of it being dosed by cc.

Lots of folks give 1 cc per 5 lbs - three days in a row with no problems. I won't say it was not the wormer but I doubt it if it was really Panacur (Safeguard or equivalent). Was it liquid or paste and what brand? I am thinking it might be something else and that the timing was just a coincidence. I hope they get better soon!

It's a liquid form you give by mouth. Now I have 3 dogs sick. Been giving them penicillin. A vet told me that if they had hook or whips that they can get out of blood stream and be in another part of the body viea the blood stream because they are microscopic, and the wormer did it's job, and the worms are causing an infection where ever their at, because of the matter they have in their eyes, show's signs of infection. thanks guy's for all your help. If anyone knows or has had a similiary problem, give me a holler. Thank's.
Fenbendazole is the active ingredient in Panacur, I've used it or Safe-Gaurd years. I don't know what worm it don't get except heart worm, as posted earlier, cause I say it will , even tape worm. I've never had rhe 1st problem with it and I worm my dogs bi-monthly with it,I even use it on pups starting at 6 weeks old.I use Nemex on pups at 2 weeks & 4 weeks then switch over. I also use Ivomec every month durning the warm months
(skeeter season) at a dose of 1/10cc per dog as a heart worm preventive.
I've tried Valbasen and it seems to work well , but I did have a pup get a little sick for a day or two so I went back the the Safe-Guard (Fenbendazole)(Panacur) Panacur is just a brand name as is Safe-Guard.
