How long does birth take and other ??? Please help .

Post by JUDE »

Hey , I know this is a simple question that I probably should know but I was just wondering how long from the time of conception is it before the birth of beagle puppies ???

What age do they come in heat normally for the first time ???

When they are not bread during their first heat cycle how long before they come in heat again ??? Of course I do NOT plan to breed a young pup !!!

Is there a shot that can be given to keep them from coming in heat ? If so how does this shot affect the beagle ?

Thanks to anyone who can answer all these questions .

The answer to the first question is 62 to 63 days.

As far as coming in heat for the first time it differs for pup to pup. I have had them come in at 7 to 8 months but I have a pup right now that is almost 9 months and hasn't come in yet. I would say between 7 to 10 months for most pups.

After there first heat cycle it is about 6 to 8 months from my experiences. As far as a shot to keep tham from coming in I have no idea. Hope this helps

60-63 days.....I have had dogs come in heat first time as early as 8-9 months, but I am sure its even earlier in some cases. They should come into heat every 6 months or so. No shot that I know of to prevent heat cycles, only a shot to abort an unwanted pregnancy.

Hope this helps!

Yes they're a shot that can be given to a female that will keep them from coming into heat. Not for sure the name of it but for sure they're a shot because I have given it and it works.

Most vets will not give a shot to keep a female from coming in heat unless it is for a medical reason. I do not recomend that if you are planning to breed the female at some time in the future. Wait untill your female is mentally and physically mature to breed her. second heat cycle or for some females 3rd heat cycle. Dan M
