I raise one or two litters a year in Washington. I dont curently have any pups but know several people that do. But like TC says, I'm not sure what type or style your'e looking for or if you're just looking for someone to run rabbits with. I am about 40 minutes North of you. You are welcome to come up on a weekend and go with us if you'd like or I can supply you with a list of local breeders, most run UKC format. You can email me directly at pncbeaglers@yahoo.com Have a good evening, Phil

....I'm not sure what style I want! I get confused so easily with all the different options! And so frustrated!! How do I figure out what I want? I guess I just need to look at a bunch of dogs and watch them run! ...but how do I learn when a dog is running well? I don't know. And is it okay to mix the different "styles"?

Here is ultimately what I want: (I think)

A dog that excels in AKC field trials that I can hunt and a dog that does well in the show ring. ---Is that reasonable?

My ultimate goal is to rasie beagles that are field champions as well as show champions. (please correct me if my terms are wrong! I'm still learning a lot in that area). Can I do that?

Good Luck to you!! it can be Done!!! but be prepared for all the pitfalls along the way.....
We have been trying to do the same for the last 10 years....
We are getting Closer all the time...
To get that Dual Champion is a feat that can get very frustrating at times..
you can check out our hounds at
http://home.earthlink.net/~tjcrewse/
one of our Big reasons for moving to KY was that there just are not enough Venues or oportunitys in the Northwest to do this
There are only 2 AKC trials a year unless you Go to Southern Cal and you will only get 2 there also at 4 trials a year with 40 to 50 dog entries it would take you aproxamatley 8 years to finish a dog to its FC thats winning and or Placing at every trial
Now you get into the Dog Shows all i can say here is POLOTICS big time LOL
If your Just gettin Started its a tough Climb Took us 25 shows to finish our First Show CH in the Northwest be prepared to travel!!!
Not trying to dissuade you just stating the Facts as We experienced them
NOW your also gonna have to Deal with the Cost of the Dog or the breeding to a good Stud Average price of a Show Quality beagle there is around $1000 with a Contract that States When and to Whom you can Breed to Ect

Tahts Why We Went to the UKC (united Kennel Club)
the second oldest registry in the US here is there link
http://www.ukcdogs.com/
here is where to find out information on their Hunting beagle program
http://www.ukcdogs.com/HPBeagles.htm

Try thier Shows First you wont be Sorry.
no Proffesional handlers to Deal with a real Fun time and Very helpful People...
there are a Couple UKC hunting Clubs in the NW Western Wa beagle Club above Seattle
And Marys peak hound Club in Corvallis Oregon not far from Portland Or.
