I have 2 six month old pups and they have only had Diamond Puppy since they were weaned and they seem to have pretty soft stool. Thinking about switching once this bag runs out.
My father in-law is a vetrinarian and so is my best friend. They both have told me to buy a really good food and then a cheaper one and mix them 50/50, helps with the cost. I fed Purina One mixed with Ol Roy for years,... dogs done really good on it, kept lean, good stool and shiny coats,... Purina One Got just a little too pricy... They always have good advice, but very few free samples... LOL!!!
I have been feeding Hunter's Special, found it pretty cheap thought I would try it. Only difference I have seen between Hunter's Special and Purina One is that they have gained some weight and it is a lot cheaper.

Dont wait til the bag runs out to switch.....buy the new feed now and begin adding it to the old feed 50/50 to get them used to the new feed gradually...this way you can avoid any further stress on their digestive system....

Dogs don't like it but they love Purina Dog Chow. I won't feed Hi-Pro after all the connections to kidney failure. My dogs have all day endurance on anything they eat. Don't need hi protein to get it done.

What connections ? May have missed them but I have not seen any links - studies stating such.Do you have links if so I would like to read them.

I feed Hi Pro and the Dog Chow.Mix them a lot 50/50 if pups are 9 months old and feed everything the same.I like Puria and Sportmix.Hi Pro just went up $3 a bag which P'd me off.Sam's carries the Dog Chow but not the Hi Pro.In some areas of the country Sam's carries both.I do not know why Tn is different.Have to go to TS to get Hi Pro aka two stops. After the rebate check it s $16.75.Purina can cause this circle clipper to change if they keep raising the price.I understand a lot of it aka corn - fuel is higher but a part of what is going on in this country right now is nothing short of fear mongering and greed via price manipulation !
