I heard tale of some fairly well known beagler (whom I will leave annomimous) from KY that has been known to be a good friend of some other fairly well known beagler from KY, that has friends in NH, GA, MO, TN and various other states... Anyway, back to my story. The afore mentioned beagler has been said to have had an offgame race very recently concerning a kitty. Except this particular kitty happened to have a certain kind of white stripe that is commonly known to have a particular odor attached to the reference with the white stripe.

Now, I am no expert in this field of off game and have never personally had to deal with this experience. So my question would be, "How do you get that smell off the dogs!?!?!?!?"

Everyone knows of the tomato juice and that it doesn't work. I have been told of using Hydrogen Peroxide, but that would leave you with a bleached out dog. But I guess that is better than a smelly dog! Heck, if you had a red and white dog, you might even end up with a pink one.

Anyway give some suggestions for odor control and how the afore mentioned kitty out of a starting pen. I am sure they would appreciate the advice.

Hey Emery, I talked to that certain beagler on the phone this morning and I believe most of the smell came out. You need to hear the story. Pretty funny (since it wasn't my dogs)

is that they mostly stir at night and when they do get out in the day it's

I am FAIRLY Sure it was more a CLOSE encounter than an offgame Race!!!!!!!
AND Ajax Dishwashing Soap With CITRUS Seemed to have Worked Pretty Well that and Some Good Show Dog Cologne

NOW as Far as getting the Afore mentioned Critter outa the pen Ya Gotta be able to FIND it First.
What We need here is Some Volunteer Dogs to help locate the funny KITTY.....

Last hunt of the season, Was down running cottontails. Dogs were driving then headed back toward us. The odor was overwhelming. Four dogs down, one for each hunter. You see the odds. Well they come out too the two track, and mine wins the contest. You cann't put them in the box, it'll cling to the inside, and our box was in a topper.

Well Tomato juice does cut it, have to use a brush and really put some elbow into it. Plus leaving him at your buddies till you go back down state, helps too.

This works good and won't bleach em out. I've also heard that go jo hand cleaner works but never tried it.



Paul Krebaum, a chemist, invented a new more effective formula for de-skunking a dog. Mix in an open bucket or bowl:

1 quart of 3% hydrogen peroxide
¼ cup baking soda
1 teaspoon of strong liquid soap such as dishwashing detergent.

Mix the ingredients in an open bucket or bowl. The mixture will fizz. Wet your dog and thoroughly massage the solution into the coat. Be sure to keep the mixture out of the dogs eyes, nose and mouth. If it is necessary to apply it to the dogs face, very carefully use a washcloth or a sponge. After applying the mixture to all parts of your dog that may have been sprayed, rinse the dog thoroughly.

This mixture can be explosive, as it will fizz and creates pressure if it is enclosed in a seal tight container. Never store unused portion, always discard. Be sure to only mix in an open container and do not try to store or cover it in any way. Do not get the mixture into the dog's eyes, nose or mouth.

Yep 1 in 4 chance and the tall guy wins.... Hey I have to attest that the tomato juice worked pretty darned good. I think we bought 4 large cans and used them all. Paul he is still a little red around the collar but is doing just fine. Good times fellas, the best part was watching the show of Paul and another fella scrubbing the dog while his buddies sat back, critiqued and laughed. Not as good as a laugh as we had trying to get a dog bred but thats another story I'll have to let Tall Paul tell someday. Hope the runnin is great for ya Paul and glad you like your new dog.
