Horse Wormer On Beagles? {TapeCare Plus}
I know in many instances many people buy horse products to use on dogs. Ivermectin being one of those products along with other wormers and skin and hair products. My question is, can I use {TapeCare Plus} on my dogs if I regulate and administer proper dosage? It seems the products made for horses are simply more advanced and higher quality than those made for dogs. I would like some feed back on this product if anybody has used it. Thanks

This is the same ingrediant in Francodex Worm X Plus, which I have used. My supplier said Worm X is one of the most complete dog wormers on the market and is better than Safeguard overall. This seems like a cheaper way of buying it. I use safeguard because it is safe. Can give over 1,000 times dosage and be ok. I dunno about TapeCare Plus. I'd be careful about dosage.

Equimax horse wormer, gets it all with one dose. safeguard usually has to be given three days in a row and will not take care of heartworms. read the ingredients on equimax, why would one use anything else, especially in the winter for tapes. If you use ivomec i dont recommend equimax unless you have a tape problem then lay off the ivomec for a month or so cause equimax has it in it.

Be careful guys !!! I was told by a gentlman the other
day that he killed two nice hounds with a horse or cattle
wormer .
I use Ivomec 1/10th cc for 10 lb of body weight in mouth
and a good TRi wormer from the vet every now and then .

Re: Horse Wormer On Beagles? {TapeCare Plus}
Ive never heard of tapecare plus but if it has the same ingredients as equimax then i use about a 1/4 of a inch or so of paste and put it under there tonques (spelling) or rub it on there back jaws and hold the mouths closed untill they swallow. if they have tapeworms, and remember there are three kinds of tapeworms the worst being the so called flea tape, i use about a half inch or so. and watch there stool the next few days and repeat but so far ive never had to repeat a dosage. its definately the best and easiest wormer ive ever used but i only use it during our gun season here in indiana and thats from october 1st (our early season) to febuary 15th. i use liquid ivomec during the summer.

I have used EQUIMAX for 2 years with excellent results EQUIMAX ($13.00)will treat 10 dogs it has ivermectin 1.87% for heart worms and Praziquantel 14.03 % for all other worms including tapes. Also I found another horse wormer at Tractor S.C. it's called STRONGYLECARE (pyrantel pamoate) great for puppies and it's $6.00 a tube.
Been hunting for 52 years rest of the time I wasted.

better be extra careful using all these different types of horse wormers i baught some once a few years ago on a guys word he said he uses it all the time for his dogs wish i could rember what kind itwas but it was in a tube like safeguard n looked black anyways i baught some of it n did like he said a inch long on my finger rubbed on roof of dogs mouth i treated 8 dogs with this wormer no problems with my 6 beagles but 2 of my daughters beagles had a bad reaction to it n if it wasnt for taken them to the vet both dogs would have died im shure the vet called the company that made the wormer the company said there wasnt any antidote for the wormer so be extra careful what ya use some dogs might not be able to take certain kind of wormers i use safeguard paste now n havent had any problems on my dogs i wont worm my daughters any more my luck they couldnt take the safeguard jb
