No dont read me wrong larry not wanting to pee anyone off. I just look and listen to all this jibber jabber and think to myself, very few i have seen what i have and most believe god created turbo on the 9th day, I was soundly beating don bramlett when he was at his peak.
Dons dogs were sound rabbit dogs no more or less. I enjoyed talking to him every chance we ran against each other. As far as 100.00 dollar dogs i can not tell ya about it, never bought one. I have raised and trained most dogs with my name attached to em.The best dogs i ever owned were probaly given to me as pups. Oh well dont take me wrong larry only asking questions

Re: what is the fastest hound you ever seen
My cousin has a male out of JR's TopGun Tyke that is the fastest dog we have seen run a rabbit. From all I've heard from those that knew and hunted against ole Ranger Dan, speed was not on top of his list of attributes but this Tyke male is line bred Dan. The dam is Stine Time Ivy that some have stated on this board has the best snow nose of any dog they have hunted and she is Dan breeding as well. I don't know where this speed comes from but I can tell you we have nothing that can run with him including a female I purchased from the UP of Michigan that was ran in Large Pack. We don't trial but just hunt rabbits so don't have anything other than our own to judge him by but with our 40 plus years of hunting rabbits with beagles we've not seen one this fast. This male is probably not even close to what you guys are talking about but he is the fastest we have seen in all our years following beagles. I would describe him as I have hreard others say FAST and FURIOUS and more so than we really like.
Re: what is the fastest hound you ever seen

Re: what is the fastest hound you ever seen
I had a hound named Branko's bad a$$ Bomerang that would flat run one down. he was the fastest i ever seen, i have some fast dogs but he would be 20 yards in front of them. He measured 15 3/4 so he had to find a new home.
Re: what is the fastest hound you ever seen
Jimmie, Spade is out here in my backyard with Caddy and Preacher, in my opinion he is still 90-95% the dog he was when he was four. When the first week of April rolls around he'll be ready, and trust me, he can still get it done.Mapel Valley Kennels LLC. wrote:Spade is owned by Brian Passmore in arkansas.I have yet to see any slow hounds out of him.
There is another hound close to me called C-Grays -Bumper too Bumper. He can get shiz done too, he beat spade at evansville but he is 4 spade is 8, they tell me spade put it on him till the last rabbit, then bump come on, he is another nice hound. Bump is line bred Bigtime top and bottom. I actually have junies mom bred to bumper and she is due soon...

Near FC Maravic's Blue Chip (out of Ninja),Hi-Liner Sally ( Northway Slim Jim) fastest Male and Female I have seen RUN a hare. Seen some just flat out running but only wanted the front at all cost, don't like that style, run with the pack not against it.
Re: what is the fastest hound you ever seen
I ran with Blackfoot a little, Sharpe Mikie, Crazy, Frog, Pretty Lady, Black face & Pop Fannie were some of the good ones, also some of the Apache X Dunns Little Red cross pups and saw them catch a few.
Blackfoots had to be run hard and often or they went nutty in a kennel, wish I'd had the time to keep them run down, they were good hounds.
I saw a liver/tan/white bitch up on the island I'm still looking for, she wheeled a hare and made it look easy...

Re: what is the fastest hound you ever seen
My buddy is running a hound called Farmer Clem, out of one of Bevs males, he will catch hare in the summer. I believe Mike White was the breeder her in Nova Scotia, Canada.
Re: what is the fastest hound you ever seen
Jason Inabnit in Indiana owns a dog I got to see at a trial one time, the hounds name excapes me but that dog was FAST not only was that dog fast but could handle a track in fifth gear it seemed! Craig Tull's LPWC Bad News dog is also a FAST mover..
Re: what is the fastest hound you ever seen
Elmer, you were pretty close. Randy's Farmer Clem dog is out of a daughter of my Dolly bitch when I bred her to Mikermas Superdog. I had sent a male and a female pup from that litter up to Mike White, and he bred the female to Undertaker, I believe. I do have a "Clem" in my kennel, the sire of Dolly's last litter, but he's no kin to Farmer Clem.
That being said, I have to go only on what I'm told, but Dan Kane who has my 3 big males up in Canada said that Big Gun (Biggun) has some of the most raw speed he has seen in a long time. Clem is a fast hound, and Dolly caught her share of rabbits when she was younger. I've always thought Dolly was one of the quickest females I'd ever seen, but I watched Mark Ross's Rocksie Girl out foot her and the entire pack one day, and Rocksie was running on a mechanical hip! (She'd been hit by a car and patched up) She won that trial which finished her for her FC and Mark retired her.
Make that a table for three on Terry Bradley's Whitey female. I watched her run several times and as small as she was, she could bull whip about any big male.
