I Have a female pup that appears to have a herniated navel has anyone had any experience with this? If so did you have it fixed and how much did it cost?
Thanks

Re: Herniated navel
If it's at the imbilacal cord I had one with a hernia there and the vet said to watch it and it seemed to go away. But later on (5yrs)this dog developed an inguinal hernia that was rather expensive to fix.Not sure if it was related or not, the imbilacal hernia was probably caused by the mother according to the vet.

Re: Herniated navel
I had this problem back in spring this year with a 5 year old female, I bred her on Dec. 28th of 08 and a few weeks later she had this hernia, after the litter was born the hernia got worse, took her to the vet a couple of months later and had it removed, it only cost $45 with the antibiotics. The vet is an old school vet and dont believe in todays vet prices, I called vets close to home here and they wanted between $250 & $350 so it was more than worth a 2 hr drive for me to go see the old school vet. If you are located in Indiana the vet name is Dr. James Brester at Beanblossom Animal Clinic, he only charges for surgeries and medications. Here is his web site http://beanblossomanimalclinic.com/
