Muck boots

Post by Spruce Ridge Beagler »

What is everyone using to patch these things up, both the rubber and neoprene parts ??
I like these boots but they seem fragile as far as punctures and tears go.
Thanks in advance

I have a pair I've had for about 7 yrs, they have all kinds of tears in them from barbed wire and they still don't leak. Wallmart has a product called boot goo or boot repair, something like that and it works.

Shoo goo seems to work great. I've patched a couple holes in mine from getting tangled in barbed wire, no leaks. The neoprene is double layered, so tears in the outer layer won't affect the boot. Mine are 6 years old, look like crap, but still going.

Spruce Ridge Beagler - Good post and will likely be good information to many Beaglers. Mine are in need of a fix. :)

Most places that sell waders sell Neoprene repair kits that contain patches and goop to fix them. Mine are also torn up but they still don't leak

Does the boot goo hold the soles on. I have had mine not even a year and the soles are coming off. Is boot goo like a glue?

If you have had yours less than a year i think they may have a year factory warranty( dont know this for sure may be thinking of something else) but i had a pair of wolverine gortexs that started falling apart in under a year and they replaced them, may be able to take them back and get another pair Donald

jlupem Ihave the chore boot, the arctic sport, and the wetlands. I glued the entire sole back on the chore boot 2 years ago with some stuff called Sportsmens goo and they are still working. I have glued holes in all 3 pairs and not had any leaks.

As far as durability I have not had a problem unless you run into something metal, fence posts, barbed wire, nails, etc. Which could be said for any waterproof, rubber boot. Brian.

i love the muck boots, but my chore boot only lasted 1 1/2 seasons before they started leaking.i got a pair of woody max ones now.
the brairs cut threw both layers of neoprene,i am gonna goo them up with a patch and then i am gonna put some wraps of duct tape around them to keep them from being shredded.
on the chore boot also the rubber is falling off in peices.i still wear them most days.
they have been used an extreme amount of time in some nasty stuff and still are great.even with the small leak

After hearing so much about muck boots i tried out a pair at Cabela's. They seemed like they would be alful hot with any type of walking required.

I remember seeing in BIll boatman's catalog he sells a repair kit made by Lacrosse. Never used it. My chore boots started leaking right at the heel, I tried shoo goo stuff from the Walmart but it only worked for a couple of days before they leaked again. Man I had a mess trying to get that stuff inside the boot without it running everywhere.

Just depends. The Artic Sports are made for extreme cold and burn me up after about 45 degrees or so. The Chore Boots are good up to about 55 or so even in the hot sun. The best boot I have seen is the Wetlands. They seem to be an all purpose weather boot with an aggressive tread.

The wetlands are good for the worst weather we have in Ky. They won't work in the warm mos. though. I wear the chore shorter top in the warmer mos. and turn them down. If you live in extreme cold the Woody Max is good.
