Come on Mike, don't rain on it. I count on the silliness for its entertainment value. I love to hear this one and that one talk about their hounds that were born with a big "S" logo birthmark on their chest and all they can do, then the former owner get on here and tell what really happened or some bystander tell or whatever. THAT is entertainment you just can't pay money for, son.!!! Sometimes it gets a little boring without some controversy! I have seen a lot in 50 years and have heard A LOT more!

There's a difference between talking about your dogs and bragging about your dogs. And then there's bragging about your dogs because you have some kind of an agenda too, but that's a whole other ball of wax. The ones that you never hear mention any faults that their own dogs have but are the first ones to point out faults in other people's dogs are the ones I avoid.........on here and out in the real world. Don't get me wrong, I am very proud of my hounds right now even for as young and inexperienced as they are..........and you'll even hear me talking about the good stuff they do and how they impress me. But you'll also hear me tell you the bad about them............and people can ask me about my hounds anytime they want..........and come watch them run too.

I agree this is a forum to talk about dogs, if the dogs are that great let them do the talking.
It is 1 thing to talk about a good dog, but bragging on them is something else.
The other agenda is selling puppies, too many people with good dogs that don't brag on them but will tell you come watch them run anytime. A lot of the dogs being bragged on you never hear about their faults. If you are going to brag on a dog on a public forum you should be prepared to answer questions about the flaws that they may have, especially if you are selling pups or studding a dog out. A good dog that is reproducing will speak for himself period.
I like to hear about the different dogs and bloodlines, just get tired of guys bragging on dogs and never mention a flaw every dog has some. I have yet to see a perfect one yet. JMHO

Would somebody please PM a post where somebody is bragging about their dogs. I see many posts where people talk about their hounds but it seems innocent enough. I have a 10 month old pup that can really run a rabbit but he only has 2 toes on his left, hind foot. If I told you he did a good job but was missing toes, would that be giving the good with the bad? If I told you he was handicapped and still did a good job, would that be bragging? I don't know but my opinion is print what you want and let me digest it as I please.

Been around alot the last few years and watched most of these big dogs run.Some are the real deal,some aint.Not my place to put anyones dog down on this board.Those who know,know.Those who don't will figure it out.If you're curious about a dog,ask to go watch it.If they don't want to show it,there's usually something to hide.Take a step back and take a look at what you got and be honest with yourself.Ask yourself,Is this hound really what I'm presenting him to be.You can brag on one all you want,but it won't make him one bit better.
By the way,anyone is welcome to come run with mine anytime.Aint got nothing to hide and darn sure aint scared!

Why does he only have 2 toes?

people get to wrapped up in this my dogs better then your dog stuff if you got 2 dogs doin it right why put one or the other down i say put away the man pride for a minute and make world beaters.

ill tell you what gets me goin is i still dont know why people talk about studs like they are the only reason a pup does good 60% of a good dog is it's dam 15% is its owner having a clue how to run that dog leaving about 25% to the sire which ain't much. proof is in itself breed a brace female to one of these high powered super fast never miss a beat stud dogs and tell me how fast they turn out cause im betting they will be brace dogs or not much over one when it comes to speed.

There are so many lies and deceptions posted on the Dogs for Sale forum, that I view it as Comedy/Sci-Fi section.

You cant stop a houndsmen from telling stories......its part of it.

When you go run a pack of dogs. If you get in the woods and bust your butt to keep up, you still only see about 5% of the race.....yet when its all done.....you can tell the whole story. You know what dog did the best.....You know your dog is the next world champion......

Why do you want to pee on some guys dreams? Some guys deal with an evil boss all week......a wife spending too much money and sleeping with the neighbor.....why take away the simple pleasures of some guy filling in the blanks of last nights race? Most of us know its not true, but some how we enjoy reading it just because we have had some of the same thoughts just dont type it out on message boards.

I think any time you air things out in the open it's probably good for us all in the long run. I personally don't agree about the dogs for sale post because I bought about 5 dogs off the board last year and I think they all were good gun dogs. When it comes to selling dogs if you go and watch them run and you buy them then it's no ones fault but your own. I love this board and what it brings to the beagling world. I have met a lot of good people on here and hope that doesn't end. Some of the posts on here I don't like either but there is somebody on here that does like them, so be it. I have had so many people I met on here come run dogs with me I can't imagine not having it to use. I tell you there have been quite a few hounds I have seen run that I had heard a lot of bad things about but when I ran with them I saw they were the real deal. I guess it works both ways. I really wish I could run dogs with everybody on here but with distance and time it's impossible. You all have a standing invitation to come run with me about any time. I'm not out to try to outdo anybody but I hope I can be competitive with all of you.

Bobby I will have to agree with you on that. I think that Mike has a valid point and if we are only going to talk about the good then we should also talk about the bad.

I would like to see more information on the breeders, trainers and owners of the hounds that we see.

I check this site many times a day since I am housebound a lot. There are many things I disagree with but I never get "upset" about dog posts of anything. So, what rubs me? - The posts about politics, somebody taking our guns, killing of raptors, religion, etc. I hold probably different opinions on these types of issues than most of you but, still, I allow everyone their opinion and respect it. Keep it all coming, give your opinion in a civil manner and this old man, will be happy.
