need some help with tri-tronics!
I have a tri-tronics classic 70 3 dog unit. i havnt used it since last feburary when i quit running my beagles for the season and started back to running last night and charged my system and collars up yesterday. Now the problem, i cant get them to transmit any father than probably 10-12 ft'. they seem to be charged up fully because when they do transmit at the short distance they seem strong and loud.
Got any ideas of what the problem could be, i know the system worked perfectly last year because i got 1 off of a deer with it at a half a mile last year.

Your batteries are dead, you need to store them on a full charge and the charge every 6 months

Re: need some help with tri-tronics!
you will prob have to replace the batt in them there about $20 each that system has what is called trickle charge and the worst thing you can do is 1 not use them and 2 not keep them on the charger. you can leave them on the charger year round and that is what is recomended. the trickle charge keeps them at a steady charge with out over charging them hope this helps.

Allen have you tried leaving them on the charger for like 24 hrs. non stop. I would try that and if they don't work you probably will have to replace the batteries.

Do yall think it would be the transmitter and the collars or just the collars?

How old is the set of collars? If I was going to replace some I would do all.

The transmitter is where the power comes from.
