How's the hare running?
I think Ron and I are gonna go up to Harrison to run some hare this weekend and was just wondering if any of you guys know how the running has been since the big storm? Also, how's the snow up that way??

I haven't gone in almost 2 years
........I haven't spent much time on hare but my buddy has. All I know is I need a rabbit that'll give my dogs a race so if it's hare then we're gonna go.

Re: How's the hare running?
I found a website with snow depths all around the state. http://www.infomi.com/snowmobile_trail_ ... =snowdepth. It doesn't have harrison listed but it shows 18 inches in gladwin. I think I am going to head up by mio they are only showing 10 inches. I waded around in close to 2 feet last weekend and it wasn't fun I think I can handle 10 inches.
Re: How's the hare running?
Bunnyblaster, I ran pretty close to there on Wednesday. My dogs are not really good jump dogs on hare in that they hunt pretty close to me. I took them right into the cover where the hare were but just couldnt get a good run going.I had big snowshoes on and stayed up just fine but the dogs pretty much were swimming. It didn't seem to matter on there size becase they all went up to there chests. It was about 10-15 degrees which was just right for me but it should be a little warmer for you so maybe that will help the dogs. Ron's dogs will be in trouble because their noses are no good . LOL. Tell him to call me back on that dog as I may be interested. CVT

I'll let him know kelly.
We didn't jump anything at the first spot so we moved on. Ron's 2 dogs and Jeff's 1 dog all went in and stayed in looking for a hare to run. Mine kept going in and coming back out for the first hour we were there. The 3 that went in jumped one about a 1/2 hour after we dropped dogs but you could barely hear them. I tried to get my dogs to hear them but they just couldn't with the wind. We went around to the other side and walked them in just 30 yards or so and then they finally heard the others and went to them. After that they stayed in the rest of the time we were there which was only about another hour and a half or so. I heard Hemi in there quite a bit but never heard Sadie........although that far off and with softer bark I'm not sure I would have anyhow. All in all it was ok and I sure am glad they finally went back in and stayed in for me.

Re: How's the hare running?
Yesterday was one of the worst days running hare I've had in a while. Took two hours to get one goin in a spot that I don't think I've ever had to wait more than 10 or 15 minutes. Once they got it goin they had a hard time with it real slow goin they lost it after about half hour. Had one other run as we were headed to truck they took off like it was a hot track and I thought they might we able to run that one but they lost that one in just a couple hundred yards. Lots of old tracks but no fresh ones. Just one of those bad runnin days. But it was better than sittin on the couch.
