Yeah and if you are in Arkansas and they show up in a pawn shop you have to pay the pawn.

I've been hearing about that happening a lot down south...seems to only be GM wheels too. Hopefully they'll change bolt patterns or offsets soon so new truck rims won't interchange with all the older trucks so the market will shrink a bit. It seems like Ebay and Craigslist have enabled a lot more people to steal stuff and sell it with little risk of being caught.

In Arkansas you have the pay the pawnshop for your own stolen goods?

If I'm not mistaken, there's a law against knowingly buying or selling stolen merchandise. Sure, they can feign ignorance about the buying, but once you let them know and they're charging to sell it back to you, are they not selling stolen merchandise? If you couldn't come up with the money would they still be able to sell it to someone else??

I have a hard time believing this, but then again, there are a lot of ridiculous laws that benefit business over people, and they seem worse in the South.

I agree it doesn't sound right. I thought pawn shops in AR had to give merchandise back to owner if it was proven stolen? I hope the OP somehow finds his stuff. It's ridiculous that a guy can't have something nice w/o worrying about it being stolen. Your last statement sounds like you have been listening to Obama and the Democrats too much.
If I agreed with you then we'd both be wrong.
