Garmin Alpha collar size
Could someone please post a pic of tha alpha collar side by side with the tritronics G3 collar. Want to see the two side by side. Really close to biting the bullet and spending the $ for a 2 dog alpha system.

Re: Garmin Alpha collar size
I don't have a pic but I can tell you I have closely compared them side by side. The Alpha is probably 1/4 inch or less larger in height, length, and width. What seems to be more of a concern to me is not the actual dimensions of the Alpha as much as the shape. It's not as rounded, if you will, as the G3 is. The corners are more pronounced as are the front and back edges of the bottom side of the receiver. Sorry, I know you asked for a pic but this is just my thoughts on the difference.
Re: Garmin Alpha collar size
I have an alpha and run it on a couple 13" dogs with no issues. But I did hang on to my G3 to train pups with. I'll try to post a couple pics later. One other thing to consider is the alpha is lighter then running a G3 and a garmin tracker. Don't know if that helps much but I will say I love my alpha and once you have one it's all you will run intill the next big thing comes out.

Re: Garmin Alpha collar size
Well I had a discussion with someone else just the other day about this very issue. I said that I had called garmin and the rep I spoke with told me that there were currently no plans to make any modifications or changes to the alpha but the "alpha program" was scheduled for review "sometime in 2014". He also said if they started today on a redesign it would be at least 18 to 24 months counting field testing to bring to market. Long story short, 2 to 3 years from now before there may / will be a 2nd generation alpha. Then bull357 made a very good point that "they", being garmin, come out with a new collar every summer. So a very good chance that this fall or next summer will probably bring a 2nd generation alpha and Mo. Beagler 5000 added a very good point that he was told the same thing I was about the alpha literally 2 weeks before they released it. So basically, as far as if or when they may or may not release a 2nd generation alpha system is a complete and total crap shoot. I do tend to agree with bull and MB5K however. I'd bet sooner rather than later, they'll probably wait until sales start to drop off a little then alpha 2.0 will hit the shelves.

You don't want to be caught with a bunch of stock left on the shelf, but also don't want to get behind on the competition improvements and loose the advantage.
