NEW RABBIT TRAP DESIGN SIMPLE TO BUILD
I got this idea from my father that grew up during the depression in appalachia. food was scarce no jobs survived by eatting what you could find or catch. he often used a fork stick with fishing line tied to a fork stick that propped up a cardboard box with a piece of bread underneath. once a bird went underneath you jerked the string.*** here's my concept you will need: a piece of plywood for the botttom, 1 or 2 hinges, a wooden box or cheese(square or round doesnt matter) one eye hook, attached to the center of the box top, take a carrot, sweet potatoe, apple tied or attached to a string, with the string ran through the eyehook and bait dangling in the air when the rabbit pulls the bait the fork stick falls and you got the bunny. has to be the easiest trap you can build. anxious to try. i have caught rabs with octagon and traditional traps this winter got to try this one. if the box is to heavy might not work, or bait to soft, what about a foot pedal. thoughts ideas. Again plywood, wood box, hinges, eye hook, string, fork stick or knotched stick, bait.
