Raw testical

Post by ACOMEAU »

Have any of you had problems with your males and their testicals getting raw while running. The deep snow has something to do with it here, but one of my males right testicals get so raw it bleeds  Seriously it wares all the hare of it and gets raw. It does not seem to bother him in the field, but it has to irritate him.

Bev I just got my issue of the Beagler. That was a nice artical on that Mo dog and his Handler. She seems like a super nice kid.

This happens to my older male every time he runs in deep snow. I just put butter on the wound and he licks it, that seems to keep it clean. I then use a antibiotic on him. Always clears up in about a week.

Good luck

Testicle Problems

Post by Ed »

Hey Aaron, this is pretty common and makes most of us cring when we see it, but so far I haven't noticed that it is anything serious. I think it'd hurt, but don't know. I'd put some Bag Balm on them. I did hear from a friend who's dad had a hound who FROZE his testies and they had to casterate him. That can't be fun.

Bag Balm?! LOL! And you thought butter was funny? :haha:

Dern those parts that hang down too far! Females have trouble too at times if the "milk bar" as Patch puts it snags up in the briars. :yikes:

Why don't you put some vaseline on them. We use to put vicks on our
stud horses, before they made supports, when racing.
